Tile Based Flash Online Game Engine Fog and Lighting Effects
Now that we’ve finished and released the Cyberkill Flash game, the first to use our new AS3 tile based game engine, we’re in the process of thinking about our next game release to use the engine.
As well as tidying up and optimising the basic game engine code, we’re planning on taking everything we did for the Cyberkill game a step further. Planned upgrades include extensions to the lighting effects used in the Cyberkill game as well as smoke and fog effects.
We’re hoping to crank the atmosphere right up on this one by implementing a load of features that were originally intended to be in the Cyberkill game, but project time just didn’t allow.
The engine is running well at 60fps in the Cyberkill game, so there’s plenty of room to add some more fancy graphics effects without hogging the processor too much.
Keep an eye on the site for updates and in the meantime go play the Cyberkill game or download the Cyberkill game pack for your website. There are six levels to get through that get progessively more complex and if you want to get the final level password you’ll need to sign up to the Cyberkill newsletter using the contact form here.
